Statement regarding the 2020 Lichfield Festival of Music:

‘We have recently been discussing the viability of the 2020 Lichfield Festival of Music. Since we are now at a point in the year when publicity must be underway and arrangements confirmed, with the continuing uncertainty, we have taken the difficult decision to cancel this year’s event. We know you will share our disappointment, but also our hope that the next festival will be on Saturdays 13th and 20th November 2021. Do stay in touch, and we look forward to welcoming you again next year.’

The Committee, May 2020.

The 2021 Lichfield Festival of Music will take place on Saturdays 13th and 20th November.

The syllabus for the 2021 Lichfield Festival of Music, the 42nd in the history of what originally was known as the Lichfield Competitive Music Festival, will be available in late-spring 2021.

As in previous years our aim is to offer an opportunity for amateur musicians of all ages to gain experience, to perform before an audience of fellow singers and players and to benefit from the advice of adjudicators who are professional musicians – adjudicators who bring a wealth of experience and can be relied upon to offer helpful and constructive comments, including written notes, on each performance

Once again a wide range of classes is on offer and we hope that among these you will find those you wish to enter. We look forward to welcoming you to this year’s Festival.

Closing date for entries: Friday 24th September, 2021.

Lichfield Festival of Music is a registered charity – number 510392
